Waking up in time can be learnedTreatment of bedwetting with medical devices such as alarm pants or bell pads has been around for many years. Studies with ENUTRAIN® have shown that up to 80% of enuretic cases become ‘dry’, and the relapse rate is low.
In a learning process that lasts between 2-6 months, the child is woken up as soon as the urine reaches the moisture sensor of the wake-up device. After some time the subconscious learns to associate the urge to urinate with waking up. The child thus already wakes up with increasing bladder pressure, and, to the delight of both child and parents, a wet bed can be avoided. Treatment success depends largely on the degree of support from the family. In children with difficulties waking up the rest of the family often wakes up to the acoustic urine alarm, but the child does not. Treatment with the conventional alarm pants or bell pads is often abandoned due to the disappointment. In the first 4-6 weeks of treatment, therefore, a family member must fully awaken the child and show the way to the toilet. This should become a habit even if the bed has already been wet. For successful treatment, it’s also necessary to transfer some responsibility for the bedwetting treatment to the child. This can be documented, for example, with an enuresis calendar. It is important to ask the child, but not to overwhelm him or her! Enutrain provides crucial assistance here. With ENUTRAIN® from bedwetting to a dry bed. |
