Medications and Wake-up Training
Today it is possible to reduce the increased urine production at night in children with enuresis with the help of drugs. This can be useful if a child is sleeping outside the home during the wake-up therapy, for example, and the training must be interrupted.
In general, it is not recommended to pursue wake-up training with drugs that reduce the risk of nocturnal enuresis by reducing urine production. Study results indicate that the learning success comes faster and is more permanent if waking is linked to increased urine production.
